Wow, Xanga, haven't updated this thing in a while.  I'm lucky I remembered my password.  I'm taking my co-worker's advice and not working too hard and then I remembered I haven't updated Xanga in quite a while.

Let's see....what's happened since my last update.  Well, Robin and I visited Liz in Arizona for a week.  Their friend Karen flew down from Colorado also to visit.  We went to Las Vegas for a couple days that was fun, especially the end since I got to go to Star Trek the Experience in the Hilton hotel.  Lot's of Star Trekkish stuff there and a couple simulator/ride things that were also fun.  Arizona was nice and warm and dry considering we came back to a very wet Wisconsin.

So far we've gone to two out of four weddings this summer.  Went to Dan and Megan's were I was the photographer.  I had to use Dan's camera since I don't have one that uses film, I mean come on, who uses film these days.  The next week went to Casey and Jen's wedding and then aftewards went to Zelmer's graduation party.  Speaking of wedding, have one this Saturday (Rich and Anna) and then Pat and Heather's in August.

They haven't fired my from my new job so that's been going well.  Our boss is currently on a two week vacation in Florida which is good because he really deserves it.  It's certainly nice having a good boss.  With the Wang out of the way we finally put up the computer rack and now we have four servers on it.  We upgraded FEI to Active Directory which went very well considering it was a major upgrade.  Also, I'm getting a couple raises, one affected both David and I so that our salaries were equal to those of similar positions in other companies and then I'll get one once I've been working there for 6 months.  I always make sure I thank God for my job b/c I know it's a tough job market out there.

My church has been without a pastor for a while, the first time I went to Falls Presb. the pastor announced his retirement.  We have a candidate pastor finally who will be preaching for a couple weeks in August and then I guess we get to decide if we want to keep him or not.

Well, I think that catches things up for now.  Thanks for readin' and have a great day :.

Yeah, we're finally able to remove the Wang from our server room at work.  What is the Wang you ask?  It was an old server, really outdated, and they wouldn't let us even shut it off even though it doesn't work anymore.  The Wang is like the size of 4 washers put together and generates a lot of heat.

A few days ago they finally let us shut it off to save on the A/C and then on Friday they told us we can get rid of it on one condition....  We have to erase the data on the hard drive. The Wang doesn't use regular hard drives that modern computers now use, they're like these huge platters the size of records stacked ontop of each other.   So yeah, if someone wanted really old data off these drives that don't even work anymore, I say they earned it.

Wow, what a week.  Started my new job on Monday and so far it's been going very well.  It's quite a bit different from Harley but I will adapt.  Lately I've been trying to learn new names at church and now I have learn even more names at work, ahhhhhh!!!!  Name Buffer Overload.

Anyways, I helped my car change the look of it's site today.  I'm going home tonight to take care of the dogs so that'll be nice to see them and get to have some Celica time too.

Well, today is my last day at Harley .  Although, it's a necessary transition into the "real world" to get a "real job" with things like benefits.  So far, I haven't been able to slack off too much on my last day.

Fridays are days where users come to us with last second problems or projects.  One user came in and he says he's going to Europe for two weeks and he's leaving tomorrow and he needs his laptop ready so he can check his email!    On top of that he's only working half a day!  Although, he did give a name of someone else we can give the laptop too, so that's good.  Then a couple more people called about wanting us to move computers and such.

Tomorrow I'm going to a conference about Biblical Ethics that I found out about through my church, meeting up with Casey and some other folks in Whitewater on Sat. morning and heading down to the conference in the scary state of Illinois.
